Have you ever needed to call a towing company to help you out of a bind, but worried about who was coming to help you? When it comes to finding a trustworthy and reliable towing company, it can be tough to know who to choose. You want to be sure that the company you’re calling isn’t staffed by criminals who could use your vehicle for illegal purposes. Fortunately, there is one way to ensure that the towing company you’re working with is above board and safe to use.  Let’s talk about the Automobile Lockout License.

Let me take a brief second to Bang the Tuber Towing Drum!  Since Day One Tuber has been proud to be ‘in line’ with all things written in legislation around our operation.  Even if we haven’t agreed, we voiced out concerns then obliged.  We do not have contorl over the requirements so to respect the public and our political system we will abide by the requirements set out for us, and strive to go above and beyond, in some cases even improving those requirements!

The Licensing System in Alberta

In Alberta towing companies that provide lockout services must be licensed by Alberta Justice. Each tow truck operator must also have an active license to possess the tools needed for lockout services. In addition, the operator’s license is only valid while working for a Company that also possess’ this license.  This licensing system ensures that those providing lockout services are clear of any criminal charges and can be trusted with the customer’s vehicle.

How to Check for a License

To ensure that you’re hiring a licensed towing company, you can check the list on the Alberta Justice website (https://securitylicenselookup.apps.alberta.ca/). This will confirm that the company is licensed and that their tow truck operators are also licensed. Additionally, you can ask the towing company for their license number, which you can then verify on the website. The license comes at a cost, among many other parts of a towing business, but ot operate legally and provide unlock services in the greater Edmonton Region, and anywhere in Alberta, both the operator and company must hold a valid license.

Why Licensing Matters

The licensing system for towing companies and tow truck operators matters because it helps ensure that the people you’re working with are trustworthy and reliable. By requiring companies and individuals to pass criminal record checks, the government is helping to protect consumers and their property. Additionally, licensed companies and operators are more likely to be insured and bonded, which can provide additional protection in the event of damage to your vehicle.

Conclusion

When you need a towing company, it’s important to do your due diligence to ensure that the company you’re working with is trustworthy and reliable. By checking for a license and reading online reviews, you can help ensure that you’re working with a company that’s not staffed by criminals. Remember to prioritize safety and security when choosing a towing company, and don’t hesitate to ask questions or do your research before making a decision.

We hope you never lock your keys in your car, but it’s inevitable. We are all human and make mistakes.  Be sure you aren’t hiring a criminal and limit it to only one mistake for the day.
